Grandmother Rosella’s family has always raised Valdostana Pie Noire and Castana cows in Gressan, at the Coassod mayen and in Champlan, with the herd moving up to the mountain pastures in summer. In the late 1960s, from our grandparents’ marriage and the few animals owned by our great-grandfathers Faustino and Onorato, today’s farm was born.
Since then, the herd has spent its summers at the Arp Vieille alpine pasture in Valgrisenche, where in 1961 one of the first electric milking machines in Aosta Valley arrived, carried up the mountain by mule. It is a bond with the mountains and the land, passed down from father to son, without ever being broken.
